A pedestal bird bath with a floating solar pump that starts circulating as soon as sun hits it. Moving water is the point — it discourages mosquito larvae, which need still water to develop, and the sound and movement attract far more birds than a static bowl.

Materials

Intended use
Attracting birds to gardens, borders, and lawns. Best placed in reach of cover so birds have somewhere to retreat.
Assembly
Bowl seats onto the pedestal. Place the pump in the water and position where the panel catches sun.
Care
Empty and scrub weekly — a dirty bath spreads disease between birds. Drain and store the pump over winter in freezing regions.
