Details
A classically shaped stoneware urn with a reactive glaze, which means no two pieces come out of the kiln looking quite the same. Fired at high temperature, so the body is dense rather than porous.
Key features
- Reactive glaze with natural variation between pieces
- Traditional urn silhouette with a flared rim
- Drainage hole in the base
- Substantial weight that resists tipping
Materials
High-fired glazed stoneware. Because it is fired hot, the clay body absorbs far less water than terracotta, which is what reduces the risk of frost damage.
Intended use
Focal planting on terraces, at the top of steps, or flanking a path. Works equally well planted or standing empty as a garden ornament.
Assembly
None required.
Care
Raise on pot feet over winter and avoid leaving it waterlogged in freezing conditions. Handle by the body rather than the rim when moving.
What's included
One glazed stoneware urn planter.
Not included
Plants, compost, saucer, and pot feet are sold separately. Glaze tone and crazing vary between pieces — this is characteristic of reactive glazes, not a fault.
Care & Maintenance
Care guidance specific to each material is included in the product details above. General guidance for outdoor pieces: rinse surfaces with clean water and mild soap, allow cushions and textiles to dry fully before storage, and keep timber, metal and stone clear of standing water over winter.
